CRAM Record No. 2 April 2013

Benedict Taylor - Solo Viola TRANSIT CHECK

Transit Check was recorded during a tour in Paris, performing and recording in collaboration with Anton Mobin.

Through the tour Benedict performed both in an ensemble setting and as a soloist, playing at Kobe, Platforme, and both live and recorded sessions for broadcast on Radio Libertaire - Epsilonia, and A Maizing Sessions.

This record is a document of the solo performances at Platforme and Radio Libertaire in Paris, 2012.

Transit Check also marks the first published collaboration between CRAM artists working in different mediums. The album has with it an original image by visual artist Julie Pickard, who works extensively in this area, creating work in response to music in live performance. She spends much time within the improvised music scene drawing numerous players and groups within the community. Her piece - tendril - is based on Benedict during a performance in 2012, is featured in CRAM Record No. 2,and is included with all hard copies of this release.
